Barbara Bartolomy: New Identity as a Spiritual Being having a Human Experience! 10/3/15

Dates: 10/03/2015 Dates: 10/03/2015 Times: 13:00 - 16:09 Location: San Diego Room, Health Services, 3851 Rosecrans Street, San Diego 92110

Founder and Group Leader of IANDS Santa Barbara, Barbara Bartolome will share the story about her 1987 Near-Death Experience, at age 31, during a Myelogram procedure, prior to back surgery for a blown disc. Flatlining, she watched her resuscitation from a ceiling vantage point, while communicating to an incredible, loving entity who she believes was the Creator/God.  When she returned to her body, she floored the neurosurgeon, orthopedic surgeon, and support  staff with the accurate details of what she’d seen and heard during  her cardiac arrest and subsequent resuscitation. Like many NDErs, she was roundly dismissed, most likely because the hospital feared the financial liability the medical error had caused.  The hospital staff refused to acknowledge the NDE or discuss it. Almost 20 years passed before she heard of other NDE stories in the media, which served to open up the internal box that she’d secreted away her NDE in.

Online, she discovered the website and Barbara finally wrote up and submitted her NDE story for their archives, never guessing what a major change that would bring to her life. About two years later, she was invited to the 2009 IANDS Conference in San Diego by NDERF Founder, Dr. Jeffrey Long.  At that conference, having very little knowledge of NDEs and their after-effects, a chance comment by one of the speakers set her upon a quest that would eventually provide a new, shocking NDE discovery for her!  Join us as Barbara relates some of her amazing life experiences and tells us how the unfolding of her NDE story has grounded her, provided long-awaited answers, and led her to cherish her whole life. Her favorite quote is, “We are not Human Beings having a Spiritual Experience, We are Spiritual Beings having a Human Experience.”

The IANDS Santa Barbara group celebrated their fourth anniversary in August 2015 and their meetings and events routinely draw between 80-120 attendees each month.  Barbara says that NDEs are opening up the world to the reality of non-local consciousness and she’s thrilled to be helping people learn that death is just a transition back “home” and we all are here to love others, learn much, and enjoy all aspects of our life adventures!

Barbara is retired from the University of California, Santa Barbara and was named Santa Barbara’s Businesswoman of the Year in 2004, for creating, opening, and operating a wonderful paper arts store in downtown Santa Barbara, until 2009. She lays claim to having the tallest family in Santa Barbara, and she and her husband Victor have five tall and terrific grown kids, as well as eight “Adopted by Love” extra kids, from all over the world, who lived with their family at various times. Barbara enjoys finding ways to “make a difference” in the world and really loves people, travel, photography, genealogy, and volunteering!
